Earthquake resistant reconstruction project after Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan Province: Wenchuan Expressway


Yingxiu Wenchuan expressway, with a total length of 48.27 kilometers, is a landmark project for the restoration and reconstruction of Sichuan earthquake stricken areas. Yingxiu Wenchuan expressway is known as the "second lifeline of the epicenter". The construction of Yingwen expressway was officially started on May 10, 2009 with seismic isolation bearings. On November 29, 2012, Yingwen expressway will be completed and opened to traffic, which marks the completion of Duwen expressway. It can take about 90 minutes from Chengdu to Wenchuan, which will save half an hour than before.
